Process Improvement (P.I.) Assessment
Did you know…
…overproduction is the worst form of waste? This is because producing more than your customer demands leads to a number of other types of waste within your organization. It also ties up often-needed capital.
How can you find out if this is a problem in your facility?
Request a Process Improvement (PI) Assessment from AIDT today! This along with other tips for success may be revealed to you through the PI Assessment.
Operating a successful business in today’s industrial environment can be a challenge. Although many factors contribute to a company’s success or failure, those committed to quality, safety, and greater efficiency, combined with a demonstrated commitment to training, have the advantage over their competitor.
AIDT understands the importance of assessing processes to identify improvement opportunities and training needs. We use a PI Assessment tool derived from the competitive automotive industry as a mechanism to identify areas of opportunity for improvement within your company. Not only does this tool identify the improvement opportunity, but provides your management with specific targets to aid in planning the improvement activities in which your company chooses to engage.
How does it work?
The PI is a seventeen-point assessment delivered by a team of AIDT Continuous Improvement staff. This assessment is delivered through “go and see” practices by way of plant tours, process observation, and interviews with key personnel. We follow the flow of products and services from the supplier to the customer. This assessment lasts anywhere from four (4) to six (6) hours.
The team then develops feedback through the compilation and analysis of the data collected. Upon completion, the team returns to the company to provide the feedback report. Within the report, the company is rated on how well they meet the requirements of each of the seventeen points. This report also consists of three (3) forms of feedback for each of the seventeen areas reviewed:
- What your company is doing correctly
- What areas can benefit through improvement
- Recommendations for improvement
These ratings, along with team comments, provide direction for your company in its pursuit of continuous improvement.
What do our clients say they like about the assessment?
- It’s confidential
- “Best Practices” are revealed and discussed
- The assessment can be performed in a single work day
- Quick turnaround time on assessment results
- Clarifies improvement opportunities
