Leadership Development Trainer

AIDT is seeking applicants for a full-time Leadership Development Trainer in Birmingham or Montgomery.

$60,226 – $78,909

SYNOPSIS

Designs, instructs, and coordinates leadership training programs both live and via virtual platforms. Work is performed with considerable independence and decision-making authority.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

Leadership Training:

  • Instructs leadership development seminars in person and virtually
  • Negotiates commitments to ensure agreement with AIDT policy
  • Analyzes client needs and customizes training to meet those needs
  • Communicates professionally with company representatives, government officials, the public, and staff
  • Travels extensively in state and out of state as required performing job duties
  • Updates Leadership Development materials for quality and up-to-date content
  • Assists with Regional workforce skills training

 

Program Development:

  • Researches and develops new training programs and continuously improves existing programs.
  • Assists with developing participant and instructor materials
  • Recommends purchases of seminar materials.
  • Revises Leadership Development material/tests and provides to team
  • Creates and maintains SOPs for the LMS and trains staff of best practices

 

Planning/Administration:

  • Plans and documents daily/weekly work schedule via automated tools
  • Manages AIDT resources within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Documents and records activity through memos, PARs, calendars, etc.

 

Special Projects:

Accepts and manages the development and implementation of special projects and other work-related duties and responsibilities as assigned (i.e. attend career fairs and regional meetings, etc.)

 

Work Habits:

  • Complies with all policies and procedures as set out in the AIDT Policy Manual
  • Plan daily/weekly work schedule
  • Maintains housekeeping to organizational standards
  • Interacts professionally with co-workers, public, and others as required
  • Complies with AIDT policy regarding attendance (Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job)

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of industry trends in leadership development
  2. Skill in presenting and modeling leadership concepts to all levels of leadership.
  3. Skill in objective evaluation of programs
  4. Skill in content/curriculum development and proficient in PowerPoint.
  5. Skill in effectively presenting information to groups in person and virtually
  6. Ability to work flexible hours based on program needs
  7. Ability to handle multiple training projects concurrently
  8. Ability to follow established laws, policies, and procedures
  9. Ability to utilize automated tools (calendars, portal, LMS, Oracle, PowerPoint, etc.)
  10. Ability to work in a constant state of awareness
  11. Ability to collaborate professionally with diverse audiences
  12. Ability to function in a team-based environment
  13. Ability to stand 2+ hours
  14. Ability to lift 10+ pounds
  15. Ability to arrange classroom (tables, chairs, etc.)

 

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum four years industry or industrial training experience, four years supervisory experience, and Baccalaureate Degree from a duly accredited institution required.

 

Salary and General:

Initial placement will be based on experience and education applicable to the C3L salary schedule, within a range of $60,226 – $78,909. Paid monthly. Excellent benefits package included.

 

Criminal Background Check:

The applicant chosen for employment will be required to sign a Criminal Background Check consent form and to submit a nonrefundable $26.17 payment for the cost of the criminal background check. (Note: $26.17 fee is based on possession of an Alabama Driver’s License. The fee for the background check may be more or less if the driver’s license is not an Alabama license.) Permanent employment will be contingent upon the results of the criminal background check.
